    "Free" is about the right price to pay for an SRC AK47 I'm ngl mate. Job lots are sadly almost always a big pile of crap that just doesn't sell otherwise.

    I've seen some of those turn up with the hop installed upside down and video reviews where they just couldn't get them to shoot consistently for the life of them. I'm guessing a few people win the lottery and get a working one probably but I'd rather something that just works.

    Yeah I really don't trust Ares, who have a track record of making AEGs that shit themselves, to pivot to GBBRs and somehow not make them shit themselves sadly. That said it might be useful to rip the furniture off this and possibly slap it on a VFC, GHK, or TM AK chassis. Remains to be seen.

    Tbf if there's any colour scheme it should be okay to call awful and ugly, it's Baby Poop Camo. Like, Rhodesians hated it. It didn't really work. They just had no access to other paint because of the universal sanctions on them. It's hard to claim it has taste or artistic merit like.

    Power Up barrel is really bad on it. It's a leaky seal and just generally causes issues up to and including BBs getting chipped.

    They got really fashionable in the US for a while after Admin and Vickers made a load of videos about them. Kommandostore made really expensive repros, and the surp market started upping the prices to match them. Apparently they're popular with Rhodesia enjoyers despite being introduced a half-decade after Rhodesia collapsed.

    I mean one kid not recognising a Nazi outfit on sight isn't whitewashing tbf. Most people just have a rough vibe but couldn't tell you how to identify Pea Dot. I think living history/reenactment is one thing and Airsoft is another. If we're this serious about avoiding pop culture conflation and accurately representing a horrific and barbaric period of history, maybe the right place for it isn't with some guy in a pirate outfit against a team of people in hoodies with scuba tank pistols innit. It's like asking for an Adolf Hitler skin in Fortnite otherwise kids might forget about him.

The EVOLT seems to have lockback on empty and yeah, needs the charging handle to load the first BB. Bit more LARP than the usual AEG, which is nice. I'm guessing the taller feed on the new mags is to make sure every BB gets shot,

    Looks like TM are introducing a new AEG format. Split gearbox, real-size pistol grips, new fire control PCB, mechanical selector, new magazines. It's looking pretty nifty!

    That long mag implies a VFC RPK is somewhere in the pipeline, and that's very exciting. The VFC AK does pretty damn well on full auto currently, and having long mags ought to make managing cooldown easier than on the M249. Eastern Bloc GBB Enjoyers might be eating good in a few years' time.

    Real Belarusian optic with illuminated reticle on sidemount. Has 4X magnification, great for an Eastern Bloc loadout. Will note that it's functionally a bit more of a "vintage" optic. The eye relief and eyebox are quite limited, and somehow it drains batteries even when turned off. That said, it sits high enough to allow use of the irons when you're engaging up close and, well, it kinda rocks on a vintage build. Looking for £200 inc. postage and PayPal G&S fees.
