If you could change the joule limit, would you?
Lyndication replied to Gunboat Diplomat's topic in General Discussion
I can't say I've ever had more than a small bruise from Airsoft, and I once did a Halloween CQB game in a witch outfit. (Did sting a bit though). I don't think you gain *that much* range from higher power limits. Chatting to Americans with an average 1.5J limit for automatic Airsoft guns, they seem to have pretty comparable effective ranges. It's all in the hop up after all. That said, I would like the legal limits relaxed based on RoF like we have now, for special events. Those Americans have pretty free rein so they can do GPMGs running at DMR limits, and .50 stationary HMGs running at 2.3J. I think that would be really fun for MilSim and LARP, could be managed by making sure the operator isn't a dick, and it would be nice if it wasn't technically illegal to have that. -
They're gunna be rare for a while. I'm ngl, I thought about it.

I don't see why they wouldn't let him akimbo. It's worse than just using one gun in game terms, though it is really fun.

Need help with working out how to ship a large item
Lyndication replied to Austeyr's topic in General Discussion
You can set it to not use Evri when you make the listing btw. I set mine to Royal Mail only. Evri has lost too many packages for my liking. -
This has been the case for decades now. Over time the complexity of electronic products has increased, more functions are on ICs rather than discrete components, and the assembly methods favour small and closely packed board layouts to minimise size, which makes it an absolute bastard to perform repair on most things. Plus an unhealthy dose of Planned Obsolescence. If I never have to replace an 0201 surface mount component it'll be too soon. It's like handling a grain of sand.
-
Yeah like I said, they're very cheap. Your TV costs 5-10x that and they don't have repair shops you can take them to either. Most manufacturers exchange like for like and maybe have one service center for the whole EU that performs board level replacement. It's part of why people have been banging on about Right To Repair for years now. If you paid me a fair rate to spend an hour inspecting and repairing it, plus shipping there and back, it'd already be getting close to the cost of buying one new. So people just do anyway.

Wrap it in tonnes of bubble wrap then put it in one of those thick parcel bags clothes get delivered in. -
Oh, it may be quite hard to repair. There's not really a dedicated service for that kind of thing, as they tend to be quite cheap. You may have some luck if you have a pal who has electronic tech skills, but usually the parts are tricky to procure. It sounds like a fault in the power line if both modes are flickering.

I'm guessing it's a real one rather than repro. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer?

That's why I like running GBBs so much. Limited ammo forces me to pick my shots, and reloading under fire feels incredible when you nail it.

MUH FAIRY DUST

That applies to all impact grenades, except the Brey Tac Thunder B at least. They all rely on hard impact with a hard surface, otherwise you light strike the primer.
-
It'll be shite outdoors, that style of grenade always is. If you're playing indoors on hard surfaces, it should be fine.
-
It's pulled up adverts from all the way back to last year, haha

Oh don't get me wrong, there's a lot to learn, but BF, Hop, and GT are all there to keep that consumer industry churning in the US. Just constantly buying new guns, buying new parts for those guns, cycling through built-up and stripped-down builds, etc, etc. Watching Guntubers buy and sell LPVOs and Dot+Mag combos like 5 times round as the discourse goes back and forth between the two gets aggravating and I think Airsofters don't need to worry about like 99% of what they talk about. Stuff about concealment, moving quietly through terrain, and observation are useful if you're on a large site/MilSim though. Getting serious about gear is especially fun for MilSims.
-
If you have a UKARA, it's worth asking the seller to slap it on the box somewhere nice and obvious anyway, But yeah the only things you'll really get pulled up on importing are real firearms parts that are pressure bearing, (barrels, gas blocks, bolt carriers, etc). Those ones will get you a nice visit from the police. Furniture and optics are fine.

Fuck knows honestly. He's always had that trick of just starting shit, getting a response, then editing around it so the other people look mental. It's an old trick. He does start that video saying he's brought his, "most painful gun". Another channel to shout out is Gun Gamers btw. More MilSim/LARP focused but a good bit about gear setups and the like. Generally seem to have good vibes as well. I'll say that you can learn a bit from firearms channels like Hop, Brass Facts, or Garand Thumb, but there's not much crossover in practice. Airsoft is basically simulating the most close-up form of fighting possible where everyone's within 50m like it's a Ukrainian trench raid. A lot of American firearms advice is how to maximise your paranoid schizophrenia level so you can convince yourself there's a civil war, retreat to the deep forests, and die of dysentery eating beans and MREs.

He's been failing to sell that for a few months now. You can't tell, because he's not bothered to add his name and the date to his photos.
-
He finds out that he plays a bit shit because there's a kilo of camera equipment on everything
-
Oh yeah the price on that is insane. You can build that brand new for less.
-
KM seems to always encounter toxic and cheating players in his videos, and it definitely gives that vibe of, "if you smell shit everywhere you go, it's you." I genuinely think he's an absolute negative for the hobby, and it's shite that he's far and away the most popular channel because that shit gets views.
-
He is exactly the kind of player you hope never turns up at your site ngl. Just kinda starting drama, being aggro, and there's a lot of chat about how he cheats a lot.

Explosive Enterprises and MrDuffo are two of my favourites

It is very British that we have so little trust in our government doing a good job, that we prefer hobbling it to any kind of rationalisation of how it works.

What have you just 3d printed (for airsoft)
Lyndication replied to sp00n's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
It's kind of irrelevant given that "yeah I play Airsoft and this is an Airsoft gun" is a legal defence.
