  1. I decided to play the Airsoft lottery, and bought one of AirsoftGi's Imperial Resupply Boxes. To my surprise, I didn't end up with one of the cheap Spectres; instead I got a VFC XCR. Pay $170 for a $400 gun? Yes please :)

haha, it was a quick mystery box thing from AirsoftGI. They throw one out there every few months; this one was to hype up their next "story" game for BB Wars

A guy on Reddit managed to fit a Daytona kit into the Spectre, turned out alright with a bit of work

Yea, but I'm not a huge techy guy (unless I'm forced to be). And I prefer a higher cost right away than adding money to a not great product to make it great

  2. As the title says, I am tempted to get some lipo batteries for my new VFC XCR, as I need to get batteries for it anyway. It has a standard crane stock. What do y'all recommend, or should I just stick to 9.6v nunchuck NimHs. And what do I need to know about lipos
  3. There are 2 S&T versions (just clearifying what Candle said), the Pro and another. The pro is good, the other is the one that gets the hate. S&T does make really good guns (PPSH and Tar-21) and some not good ones, sometimes both (like with the two Tar models)
  4. Yes. Oh, whoops, left that letter out :-/
  5. My E&L AKs-74U, "Natalya". Still a WIP, she's going to get some professional work done soon to finish her off. I think less is more in terms of AKs.
  6. Aww... I wanted to try some out... But I can see why, direct impacts would cause some concern...
  7. CQB, they can be a huge help. But outdoors, they are mostly for show only. Unless you use those TAG rounds, which are quite expensive. I use an S-Thunder at The Mall in Reading and Combat City in Florida to various effect.
  8. Heck yes, this looks awesome
  9. I am undecided if I absolutely hate it or love it... Think I'm gonna have to love it as a quirk
  10. That's actually a neat idea for a game mode. Looks like fun. Good video as well
  11. You'd like mine then. Anyway, I love the Sigs as well Trigger, and I agree with your OP. The only person I've ever given a second look to wash guy at The Mall running around with dual TM AEG MP7s. It was my first game, and that just seemed so cool
  12. Hello, My WA 1911's outer barrel is a horrendous orange. No, the tip isn't orange, the whole outer barrel is. I need that replaced. Anyone know of any outer barrels that will fit it?
  13. They aren't cheap, and the mags make it worse. I got really lucky with mine due to some kindness from Hef Legend on here, so we will have to see
  14. I've given out stuff before; I still have about 10k .12g bbs from my ol backyard springer days that I only use in my s thunder. I give those out like candy from Krieger's van. In my one airsoft video on my YouTube channel I also give a guy my G17 as his g36 was out of ammo
  15. Mp7 for me although I might pick up an MP5 as well
  16. Ok... I wasn't getting notification for some reason, oh well... Ok, a few things. GingerBread is correct; I have between 4 and 6 guns I currently have in the UK that will be making one way trips to the U.S. when I visit my family over Christmas (I may leave a set there for my winterly Mall games). I have my 14 ccw flash hiders, now I need someone on here with a ppsh to send me a message cuz I need precise measurements of the front of it; here at FIT I sorta have access to a whole lot of machines like 3D printers; I'll make an Orange ppsh tip and glue it on; acetone will remove it once I'm here.
  17. Hello, I figured I'd start a new thread for those of us who see a gun, or a picture of one, or something and want to know what kind of gun or what brand it is. So I'll start it off with the picture below. It's a 1911 that my grandfather gave to me when I moved to the States (he used it to kill by Boring Bees, and it wasn't working as it had sat for two years with no gas, and with bad o rings (the poor thing). I've resurrected it, but before I start ordering upgrade parts, I wish to know the manufacturer. It could be something cheapish he picked up at REI, or it could be a more expensive one as he does sometimes do research on this kind of stuff. And no, he has no idea about the brand. Thanks, Spaz Ok, found out it's a Western Arms Strayer-Voigt Infinity 5" 1911. Anyway, feel free to use this thread to ask your own questions and hopefully find some cool guns in the process.
  18. No problem. Just line up the edges of the sticky pad to the edges of the NVG mount, and press them together with as much force as possible, then leave them to set for awhile. Set a textbook on top of it or something for continuous pressure. I've had mine hit with gun barrels, bbs, and a few walls/branches I came at too fast, and it's still there. Check out my YouTube page (in the media section of AFUK) for an idea of what the view looks like.
  19. Well, I can't say how she'll preform in battle; I haven't played here in the U.S. yet, it's too bloody hot. Once it cools down she'll get some game time though. But it's an Eotech, so from experience (I mount the Eotech on my MP7 at about the same distance) it works well. The stock extends back a bit, I always have it at its farthest length
  20. Nope. Not at all. You NEED a casing on it; both of my GoPros have been hit before; and both would have broken if not for the casing. But besides the casing, Sure, you can mount your camera with no cost at all. Ill attach a pic with the best way to do so. Basically, take one of the sticky pad that came with it and put it in the NVG mount on the FAST helmet. Then you can just slide on the attachment.
  21. What's your time frame like? I live in the US now, but ill be back at The Mall in December. If you cant wait that long you can take mine for a spin then, but its likely you will want one before then .
  22. Like me . In my opinion, it's great. And mine's second hand, so a new one should preform even better. I get about 1-1.5 mags out of a fill, which isn't great, but I never refill a mag with ammo without also filling it with gas. Gas, of course, means smaller mag sizes and more cost for those mags, but the blowback, sound, and such are good. The hop is good for a shorter barrel (being a TM and all), and power is right in the legal range, unlike the AEG which usually fires around 280. Whered you be using it?
  23. She's finished! After receiving new, just off the line parts from Rogers Holster Company, my Stoner 96 LMG is done. She's named Deirdre, after Stoner's own daughter (a fitting tribute I hope), and I can't wait to take her to the field, while the gun of her creator's Russian counterpart is still being worked on. Changes are purely aesthetic, and include a new RHC Heavy Duty GripPod and Quick Attach Sight Mount, and 6mm of ballistic glass mounted in front of the genuine Eotech 552 to protect it (due to Trigger's constant threats that he was gonna shoot the sight out...) I may also be getting a P*, as I do have around $900 that I could spend. Unlikely, as I will likely save the money, but it's something else that may be in the works...
  24. I know him. Well, I've met him, he and my grandfather have shot together. I'll look up the episode.
  25. Or 7...
