  1. Yes, it is... But a lot of higher end guns are.
  2. I run my G17 with two normal mags and one high cap. I have never gotten into a situation where I fire more than about 5 shots with my pistol before I switch back to my primary or something. It's not like I run pistols only and use high caps; I could make due with normal caps easily, but I felt like getting a high cap, so I did. The MP7s are quite nice. Not gonna get the range a rifle will get, but for CQB they are great. And I think the TM's slightly smaller size over the real steel isn't a problem, and probably helps in most cases.
  3. Noise, yes. Quite a bit. Not for stealth, but I like the noise and kick. TM does have their magic hop, and I get pretty good accuracy with it. For whatever reason, this weekend my sight was off target; I guess that's because I zeroed it using .25s, but due to running very low on ammo (in fact, I think I have only about 300 rounds spread around my room now...), I was using .2s, so that was probably why. It was still accurate, just not zeroed.
  4. Wish there was time to run back to the US, grab a NVG scope, and get back... But oh well.
  5. I have the Marui GBB one, and it's great. In terms of size, trades, etc, that all seems correct; the added bit on the valve (embarrassed I don't remember what it's called...) of the mag is good as it allows the gun to fire easier. The stock on the TM one is also good, with little wobble, but apparently it can be broken by idiot midteens hyped up on pizza, coke, and OJ. I have never run out of gas before running out of ammo, but getting two fills out of a mag would be a stretch. I love mine, and used it some on Sunday, but my new PPSH had to take precedence.
  6. I'll let those people who like to write books on what M4 to get tell you what to get, but in short, for £300 you are safely out of the G&G starter gun range, and could look into getting some good ICS or similar guns.
  7. I have a "educational edition" of Solidworks, but it's basically the same thing. It was something my school had a few copies of, and I was lucky enough to grab one
  8. For one thing, Holster Ops (company that makes holsters for Safariland) uses it, and I can see other companies using it as well
  9. I love messing around with CAD. My school has a few printers as well, and they let any of us who take HL DT do pretty much whatever we want in the workshop. I use PRODESKTOP and Solidworks; Solidworks is much more advanced.
  10. Welcome, never been to either of those two
  11. I use only Blaster variants as well Monty. Either normal (green bottle), devil, or tracer.
  12. I'll let the gameplay do that to her.
  13. Oh for pete's sake... Kurtz, not helping...
  14. I plan on doing something like this at uni next year
  15. WWII day for airsoft
  16. She's here. S&T EBB PPSH-41. Oooohhhhhh yea.
  17. Ohh, a present for me? Thank you ParcelForce :D

And Hef, I'm up there again on the 7th (I leave for the US the next day), if you wanted to come then.

  18. Post this everywhere... Arnies, zeroin, whatever the WWII site is, FB groups, and more. This needs to happen.
  19. Mine still works after two years; I let my brother's friend who likes lots of ammo and is a total CODsofter who loves to spray and pray use it while I waste them with my guns Trigger, you'd love my backyard games.
  20. Hmm... Speaking from experience (my first gun for backyard plinking with a cadet friend over two years ago) no. This thing struggles to hit 40m. And the gravity fed mag sucks. If you want to go to a skirmish with a gun of your own, and you don't want a shotgun, you won't be able to spend less than about £100 for a good pistol. And for a primary, you would need to hit about £150 for a G&G M4, or a JG or something similar (since I got hate for only mentioning G&G last time). If you can't or don't want to spend that much, just rent from the site.
  21. My Franken4 has a G&P receiver, and with it I must agree with Teddy. Fits lots of real steel parts, including the Rogers Super Stoc (although that's designed to fit all civi and military stock tubes anyway, so...) and a TROY TRX rail. So that's a +1 for G&P
  22. Defiantly true. The only M4 I will ever run (unless I'm in the US; my only guns there are an M4 and another WE G17) is my highly customised (and still not working) M4 from multiple manufactures. I won't ever buy something with the classic "Raider" look, unless it's for someone else and they are just using me as a middleman.
  23. Yes, this is all true, and those are all good recommendations for those guns. However, when people first enter the sport, the huge range of options can seem daunting, and most people are fine with an M4; it keeps from scaring them away. However, if he came back and said he wanted X gun, then I would stop pushing for an M4, and find him a good version of X for him.
  24. Any mag that fits in the AGM MP40 will fit the Sten. The two were comparable IRL, as are the airsoft mags.
  25. Hi, welcome. If you are new, I'll say what everyone is gonna say. If you are serious about the sport, get a G&G M4 variant for about £150. If you don't want to spend that mucus, then rent until you decide whether the sport is good for you or not. If not, give it up, if it is, then buy the G&G
