  1. Let's have no confusion; I am American, but play over here. The Mall is in Reading, here in the UK as well.
  2. Lynchburg... Nice name, huh?... Anyway, it's a "dry county" which means the local government forbids the sale of alcohol.
  3. But I feel we may have derailed this poor lady's thread... So sorry about that Miss...
  4. It was the correct time; and the way the site was laid out made it that in that game Peacocks was kinda a dead end, with the bomb in the next room. And by 15 min, I mean I was alone holding it for that time, not necessarily fighting. And yes, there was a group of around 20 renters who didn't seem to know what they were doing, so it could have been them I was facing. But there is no exaggerating. Don't rain on my parade Also, in term of my MP7... It's due to the attachments. They cost more than the gun, but I only have them due to my partial sponsorship from Safariland. I have long told people that my gear costs more than my guns. Everything but the gun and mags on it is from them. I have a Safariland leg drop holster modified to mount a TMC MP7 mount so I can leg mount it, a Safariland single point sling, 4 mags, the gun itself, a Safariland torch with pressure mount, etc... Oh, and the £500 real-steel Eotech sight I have on it... My, did my eyes light up when the care package I got over April break included that... Attachments aside, it was a bit of an exaggeration on weight. But it is heavy for such a compact gun.
  5. Alrighty then. It's a great site, one of the best in the country. And it happens to be one of my locals . Right. Either way, WE mags are better, and as clones of TM, WE mags will work even in TM guns.
  6. I'm from the mythical land of Jack Daniels. Don't drink personally (personal choice, not age-related), but still... Fun fact; the county where the Jack Daniels plant is has a ban on all alcohol sales, so the people who live in the town that grew up around the plant can't even have the whiskey that their town is famous for...
  7. I held Peacocks alone in the BuildABomb game for 15 minutes back there, with a marshal-confirmed 18 kills, and "greens" coming in from almost all doors . Dual wielding my two favorite guns; my 1000 pound TM GBB MP7 (named for both weight, and price) and my customised WE GBB G17. I was in the shadows, and I got at least four people before they even realised someone else was in the room with them. Then the fun began.
  8. Ok... A few things first (Note, this may become an extensive ramble...) One, TM make good guns. So does WE, but TM have broken the code when it comes to hop-up units with their magic pixie dust they use. Two, WE have metal slides. This is both a pro and a con. A metal slide feels better, and you get the bonus of a very nice 'clunk' when you chamber that first round, as well as a fair amount of kick. But, the trade off is that they use more gas. Third, generally stay away from CO2 (personal opinion), as most sites don't allow it (or at least the ones I've visited), and it can (using the term loosely) damage the gun. GG or propane is just fine. Four, WE (pistols, at least) guns are, or at least tend to be, clones of TM guns, so they will fit the same upgrades, holsters, and such. So, what does that come down to?... I have the WE G17, and it is my favourite sidearm that I have ever held in airsoft. I was given one by Bill Roger, owner of Rogers Shooting School and Safariland, along with some Safariland gear for it. Although the loading nozzle broke before I got it (easy fix) I enjoyed the feel of it immediately. I've had a few things done to it, including throwing an upgraded TM recoil spring (for a bit more kick) in it, a custom installed Tiridium sight, and some the aforementioned Safariland products on it. I'll throw some pics on the bottom. All in all, it comes down to it. I don't believe that the hop is as important on a pistol, as it's more of a last-ditch item in the world of high-caps (I use low cap maps in everything, so I do need a pistol, especially at the close ranges of The Mall) and I love the metal slide and kick of the WE one. I would say, try to find one and test them yourselves (look around at your next skirmish, someone should have one; worst case scenario, come to The Mall on May 24, I'll happily let you see mine; I've even lent it to people whose guns failed during games. *Edit: I say I'll post pics, and I forget to even do that... Also, my sight allows me to interchange green and red high visibility front-sights. It's as Eso said; WE guns do require some tinkering to get them working at their full potential.
  9. In terms of pros playing, that I am not. The most "training" I've had was from Rogers Shooting School in Ellijay, Georgia. And that's only been basic stuff over the years. But talking to the military guys that show up the I've learned enough to hold my own in the dark at The Mall. You kinda pick it up, especially if you have one main site you attend; knowing the site can give you a huge advantage over the newbies to the site. Know where good ambush spots are (like the back wall of Peacocks at The Mall), and play smart, and you can have fun and do well at the same time. Oh, and welcome BTW.
  10. I'm too lazy to read back through the previous pages... What is this for exactly?
  11. May 24th- meet up day at The Mall? That's the first time I can go due to exams finishing a few days before, and it's just after my Bday
  12. Cool, Safariland holsters are all Kydex as well; Bill Rogers invented the first Kydex holster. I've used Kydex in a Diabetic kit I made, it's great stuff.
  13. Could the battery be charged already?
  14. Well, you shouldn't be able to find one where you can buy them without a defence, let alone import them. Once you have a UKARA # (easiest way), just have the company put he # on the package and customs will let it through.
  15. Quite possibly... I've taken this M4 apart enough that I can put it together in the dark. So it's perfectly reasonable to assume I put a gear in wrong. Guess it's time to take the damn thing apart again...
  16. Ok then, back to square one... Any other ideas? It's so close....
  17. Ok, some pics of the two parts. I honestly can't see / find anything matching your description there...
  18. Hello, So I've fixed most of the issues with my M4. But now the motor won't settle in place. The slightest turn of the tightening piece will make it go from just touching to locked up... Any advice? Oh, and the "sweet spot" changes every time I unlock the motor...
  19. Welcome
  20. Had a guy with a GBB pistol (obviously a new player) trying to exchange fire with a few guys across the main concourse/briefing area at The Mall. I was next to him and he got mad, claiming his gun wasn't working and the guys at the shop had "sabotaged" it... I said they were out of range for a pistol, he replies nu-uh (sounded just like that) and points out that I can hit them with my pistol (note I was using an MP7 at the time, not a pistol...). He then says he will prove it, and fires at the back of his hand from about 4cm away, with no gloves on... There was a lot of cursing from him after that...
  21. Delta Force paintball uses those (well, a slightly different one), and they work well enough. Again, I can almost promise you that both your glasses and any closed mask will fog up pretty quickly. So if you do go that route look into anti-fog products; I use baby shampoo in my diving masks to keep them clear.
  22. Welcome. If you feel like throwing money at the problem, then get some prescription lenses that cover your eyes completely. Eye pro is one thing you can always justify spending cash on. Or, you could get a larger face ask and wear it over your glasses. Or you can wear contacts like I do, but I understand that a lot of people don't like them.
  23. I have a real-steel Eotech 552 on my TM MP7 GBB, and it's great. Although, at around £500 it's probably out of most people's price range, unless you've got a "friend" in the army that can make one disappear for you...
